    Hello,

I've noticed that when my screen is black, in the middle left part of the screen, there is a slightly lighter band of light than can be seen when slightly to the side. I have a 1680x1050 screen and is this something I should worry about ?

    Thanks

when there is something actually displayed on teh screen, can you notice it?

if it is really that bothersome, contact dell and see if you can convince them to replace it for you.

but if you dont really notice it when something is displayed, i wouldnt worry about it.

I have this exact issue now. My first LCD had 2 large lighter lines, viewable from the right on an angle. The second had a huge blotch on the left. The third has two dimmer lines around the middle. These ones are visible from the front and the right. Eurocom claims that they are not issues and due to the glossy area of the screen not adhering completely to the LCD. When, on an angle, I can see an overpowering white section (and not the lcd itself), I call that a defect. The current screen I have also has a scratch on the LCD, underneath the glossy layer. I can live with the current cloudiness, but not the scratch which is bigger than my mouse cursor!
