I was just wondering if anyone knew what the slot is that is behind the battery when you take it out, that looks like what could be a sd card slot. Thanks for any help.

I haven't looked, but my guess would be a SIM card slot.

No, the data plans are different I believe. First of all, unlimited internet supposedly (not that AT&T ever does anything about it) has a 5GB limit. The limit for the data plan on your computer is like $60/mo. Separate.

your iPhone is a non-tethering plan -> cheap..... if you opt for a tethering plan, it'll be $60/month

of course, some people manage to tether some phones on a cheap plan :p

The only way AT&T can accuse you of tethering is by reading your data packets and checking your user-agent. Granted, it might be slightly obvious based on bandwidth usage, but that's not enough. They'd need solid proof, and the second they start checking your data they're violating your privacy. There was a *similar* class action lawsuit when AT&T gave phone records to the NSA and used them to check up on people (ref: http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2006/01/70126). So I'd imagine if AT&T tried to actually look into your internet data you could do the same.

However, I'm not encouraging you to break AT&T's contract either. You shouldn't be tethering your phone unless you have the proper plan :). But if you're tethering your phone there's no point in having the WWAN card in your computer making this thread useless.

AT&T can terminate your contract without reason if they wished to. They don't need "solid proof".
