    Hi guys,

Anyone else experiencing really slow boot ups with the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1? It's almost as if the laptop fully shuts down rather than goes to sleep. Compared to my 2014 Razer Blade, this is unbearable.

    Are you using "hybrid sleep?"

It basically commits to a full hibernation, but instead of actually cutting the power at the end, it just goes into a standby state. It's like the worst of both worlds, since the standby mode is only used to bypass the BIOS load time, which is negligible on modern computers.

On my laptop (which I know is not the Vaio in my sig, it's an E5450), 16GB of RAM typically took ~20-40 seconds to commit to the SSD, nevermind the SSD wear that likely came from hybrid sleep.

I guess the only downside is my E5450 draws a lot of power when in standby, and if I leave it in standby for more than 2 days, it will run the battery down completely. In that case, hybrid sleep may have been useful.

How can I turn that off? I don't mind additional draw from Sleep as I usually only have my laptop sleeping for short bursts of time. I would rather the almost instant bootup.

    Thanks in advance!

depends on the OS you are using. Usually, it's in the old-style power settings (not the Windows 8/10 settings app).

Okay, I just tried google, and few of the results were of much help (or were for older versions of Windows 10).

So, in the current version of Windows 10 (1803),

Search for "edit power plan" (either from the start menu or cortana)

Then, the screenshot below should show the rest.
