I am hoping for an update to the XPS, what time of year do they release them? I am praying the new version fixes the fan issue!

Dell did introduce the XPS 13 at CES. I would expect that a Zjacobss is correct and that a "refresh" of the existing XPS line will be limited to CPU and GPU upgrades when Ivy Bridge is released in April/May.

Interesting question, the current XPS 15 and 17 is already the R2 of the design...
On the other side the design is very sound, not getting old and its cooling is quite good, so the Ivy version could be the R3 of it.

crap, I was hoping (I know it probably wasn't going to happen this year) for a design like that XPS 16 inch from 2 years ago I believe? The black finish design one or something like that or better.

Dell's designs typically go 2 years and a bit. I expect the xps redesign to arrive no sooner than the very end of this year.

In my opinion Dell won't make an update to the XPS laptop line. Seems all manufacturers are aiming to the so called Ultralaptops and Dell will do the same.

I was hoping for a dell XPS redesign, since, in my opinion, the XPS notebook looks ugly
