I wanted a 9 cell battery for my M1530, but I didnt want to pay Dells steep price. So i decided to buy one on ebay. The listing for the battery said that it was brand new, bought in bulk, and was compatible with my M1530. This guy had an almost perfect rating with over 10000 points and I felt that there was nothing wrong with this. I got it today and it does not fit my laptop, the hooks do not line up correctly. I think it is for an M1330. I am so pissed, I know I can prolly get my money back or an exchange for it, but its going to take forever, because the guy is in Hong Kong. Just wanted to vent.

That's what I did. Got my HP battery for $40 +s/h
($10 ins)-- half the price! Now it actually is mobile lol. -
When searching eBay, filter your results to USA only.
You wont get knockoffs that way. -
^^^ lol sure you can a lot of the us seller buy these in bulk from china
-
The battery needs to say it is OEM. And their location is posted as where they are...it is not hard to be smart on ebay.
-
also the price can be a giveaway. Generic pictures, with too good of a price usually just mean knock offs. I was going to buy one for my 1330 off ebay, but the savings is almost not worth it, although I would avoid tax, and possibly free shipping through ebay.

I bought some LED bulbs from a vendor in HONG KONG once (e-Bay). The ad showed packaged PIAA's, what I got was a loose bunch of bulbs in a plastic ziplock bag. I was super po'd. I ended up negotiating a partial credit to save the cost of shipping back to HK. Now I don't purchase from outside the U.S.
Also, make sure to use the filter... the vendor I bought from said location was HK USA. I didn't know what that meant until it was TOO LATE.
You need to be VERY CAREFUL on e-Bay... all the time.

I'd be somewhat apprehensive about buying a used battery... but that's just me.

Good luck with that. You went with the cashback didn't you?
