    Hello.
I am thinking about buing new lappy. and so i have some questions:

    1) i saw this models on the market:

    6100u fhd
    6200u fhd
    6500u qhd
    6650u qhd

primary i want matte display, but also i would like to have fastest cpu (6500u?)
So the first question is : are motherboards of this lappyes swappable?
i can buy 6100u model cheap and spend other money on new mobo, or i can buy 6500u ..the price are roughly the same. (on refurb market)
    2) the second question is: what is the wi-fi card slot name? any ssd that i can drop in it?

    thank you

The Full HD (1080p) screen is matte. If that is important to you, then buy a FHD model of laptop.

The only difference between the CPUs is speed. The difference between the Core i5 6200U vs Core i7 6500U is 200Mhz. These days, CPU clock speed doesn't give you any performance benefit. Zero. Zilch. Absolutely nothing.

If you absolutely MUST have the fastest CPU, then you could buy an Intel Core i7 6500U model of laptop (with glossy display), and use a matte screen protector on it. It will not look perfect. And the QuadHD model (7 hours battery life) of the XPS gets significantly worse battery life than the FullHD model (11 hours).

Again, get the Core i5 6200U model. You're not going to get any performance difference by getting a faster CPU clock speed. The Core i5 6200U model won't feel "slower", and the Core i7 6500U model won't feel "faster."

    No. Do not swap motherboards.

Technically, yes, you could replace the motherboard. But you're causing more problems for yourself.

    1) A replacement motherboard will be hard to find; and very expensive (several $100's).

    2) A full motherboard replacement is very difficult process in small, ultra-thin laptops like this. There is a very good chance you will cause damage while you are doing that motherboard replacement (especially damage to the thin ribbon cables).

    3) The serial number of the laptop is not changing. If you ever need to send the laptop in to Dell for repair that requires a replacement motherboard, then they are going to put a Core i5 motherboard into that laptop, because that is what their records show as being installed in that laptop with that serial number.

No. Please do not do a motherboard swap.

If you care more about a matte screen than you do about zero-difference in performance, then get the Core i5 6100U or 6200U model.

If you care more about zero-difference in performance than you do about matte / glossy screen, then buy the Core i7 6500U model.

It's an M.2 slot. And no, you can't put an SSD in the WiFi M.2 slot. The physical slot is the same size, but the pins are different. On this laptop, you can only use one storage drive (in the M.2 SSD slot).

Whether you buy the Dell XPS 13 or XPS 15 depends on what you need out of your laptop. They really are two completely different types of computers.

If you need gaming and/or computing power, get the Dell XPS 15. If you need portability and battery life, get the Dell XPS 13.

not really fair to compare a quad core with a dual core ULV. the hq is for performance and the U is for battery life....perhaps the U 28 watt chip might be interesting, kind of inbetween, like the i5 6267 or i7 6567....however pretty much only the macs will use those...well, there is the vaio z which uses them. Other than the vaio, no laptop has been released with them, yet.
