Hopefully someone can answer.
1. Can you use mini-dvd's(the small 6cm dvd ones) in the slot drive at all ?
2. What slot drive make and model will it be? Anyone know any of them ?
3. How long does everyones 6 cell battery last on average ?
4. If i get the 1440x900 screen can i set the resolution to 1280x800 too ?
Thanks

1. According to my manual the dvd drive only accepts the full size standard dvd.
2. My 1530 (Delivered today) has a TEAC DVD Drive.
Model number is TEAC DVD+-RW DVW28SLC ATA
3. Manual states 3 hours from average use - higher settings and brightness tend to drain the battery.
4. Just changed my screen resolution down from 1280x 800 to 1024 x 768 - worked fine looked rough though.
Hope this helps a fellow Jock

Don't know why its got such terrible ram lol but going to upgrade that easy enough, 7200rpm hdd is quite cool.
So what did yours come with, just ac adapter and the mini remote ?
I wanted to get the leather pouch lol, guess i wont get that.
So if you didnt get your confimation email how did you know it was coming? How do you find out lol -
I got the AC adaptor - AC cable.
Mini remote and a free laptop bag (which is nice btw)
Could always pick up some stuff on ebay - tends to be some accessories there.
I got an order acknowledgement but no order number - could track it and it go to a stage where I was doubtful my order even went through.
This afternoon TNT banged at my door saying I had two parcels - was a bit surprised to see two DHL boxes (One for laptop bag)

I just missed out on the laptop bag DAM lol, is it good ?
I just ordered tonight at 6pm and just got an email saying Order confirmation:
It just lists my order reference number and order summary. and says
"
You will receive a second confirmation by post after your order has been processed (typically within 3-4 days of submitting your order). This will include your Dell order number, customer number, purchase order number, final total price and estimated delivery date"
Thats all i have at the moment -
I think this is the bag I got:
http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=460-10170
Not a deal clincher but nice.
I received an "Order Acknowledgment" & "Dell Financial" email - no order numbers I could use to log in to create an account however I am very happy with the laptop and 1 week turn around is nice.
Hope you get your new laptop as soon as - TNT delivered mine in a small Ford Fiesta white van. -
What was the url to create an account ? , I've not got anything
-
the 1530 doesnt come with the bag anymore? It used to?
-
paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
m1530 comes with a SLEEVE.... not a bag
its shipped in a sleeve, so you shoudl get it -
.. you will really enjoy the 1530
The 6 cell. lasts for me almost 3 to 3.5 hours
Yes, you can adjust the screen res. size on the 1440x900, this is the screen size I have and really like it!
The sleeve is just a *sleeve* not a bag itself
