This is a fairly recent problem. I've had the laptop since late last year. When playing music, typically from Grooveshark, the sound will stutter/skip/lag when the CPU usage spikes. If the total CPU usage is above around 15% it will do this. When Grooveshark downloads the next song the CPU usage spikes and the stuttering is the worst. The computer appears to be running normally otherwise, runs cool, not too many processes or programs running, plugged in, in "balanced" power mode which should mean no restrictions when plugged in. I am playing audio through the headphone jack into a stereo receiver to surround sound. While playing music, the process audiodg.exe is using 1-4% of my CPU according to task manager. Not sure if this process is the problem or not.

I have not tried talking to Dell yet. I figure I'd see if anyone else had this issue before I get the runaround from Dell. Thanks!

I never had this kind of issues, and I also know is not the most confortable options, but just in case, have you done a clean reinstall of windows 7?

I am not talking about the OEM Dell version, but about the vanilla one that you can find here:

I used to have the dell OEM windows installed on my L701x ( I have the CD ) and it was running slow on my newly system.
