So here is an odd question before I rip this laptop apart.

I have a Dell XPS 15z and an old (not really, but anything more than a year old is old to me) Dell XPS 15 L501x and I completely cannot stand the speakers that the 15z has... I think old school sony walkman headphones from the 80s sounded better. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone knew if the speakers are the same size in the 15z and the 501x because if so I wish to swap them from one laptop to the other...

    Thoughts?

I guess the quality of sound has a lot to do with the sub-woofer as well . Without it, your music will still lack bass .

Very unlikely, and from experience, the wiring is set up specifically to fit. I doubt the 15z would support the 501x speakers and vice versa.

A portable sub woofer (one of those USB-port thingys :) ) or headphones would be better.

True... I got mad and gave the 15z to my sister who needed a laptop anyways and I purchased a HP ENVY 17t-3200 3D with 6 built in speakers & sub.
