Hello everyone!
For some reason, i don't understand. The speakers are not functioning on my dell xps 1330. The device manager shows everything as working fine. Anyone else run into this problem???
Thank you.

I recently replaced a M1330 motherboard, which had a faulty video chip, with a brand new motherboard sourced from a UK seller on eBay. When I installed the brand new motherboard, I found the internal speakers wouldn't work and I only got sound when I had external speakers. After re-checking all the plugs were seated correctly, the sound still didn't work. When I reinstalled the faulty motherboard (It worked sometimes) I found I had internal sound. The problem must have been the brand new replacement motherboard. I contacted the UK eBay vendor and returned the motherboard for a replacement. When I finally got the new motherboard, I found it had the same problem as the first one.
I decided to give up and source a refurbished second hand motherboard locally. This one works ok and the laptop is working fine.
It would appear that Dell recently disposed of some brand new faulty M1330 motherboards in the UK. If you have sourced one of these, the motherboard itself is the problem. The solution is to use external speakers.
