I am looking to purchase some speakers for my XPS 1530. I already have a 2.1 system, but the subwoofer is so large and kinda defeats the whole mobility of the system.

I have been looking at the Altec Lansing XT1, they seem like a pretty cool set for a laptop.

What are you guys using? Anyone know a set with a small subwoofer that can easely move around and so forth?

For my laptop I just use the internal speakers, they're quite good (much better than the new ASUS laptop my friend just bought, even though his system is way more powerful). For my desktop I started with a Logitech X230 2.1, loved it, so I sold it and bought the X530 5.1 which I have now.

For my old laptop I have a set of USB powered speakers. They sounded better than the internals but weren't any louder.

    +1

I also have the Logitech Z4's but they aren't really a portable solution.

They sound great when I'm at the desk though!

I purchased the Creative T10 speakers with my 1530. It hasn't come yet, so i don't know how they perform.

I just bought some Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers (newer and updated version of the X-530 with better cable management and remote control) and they are amazing, best set of speakers I've ever owned and relatively cheap as well.

However, they are probably not suitable for you as the subwoofer is rather large and probably the same size as the one you have.

    I have this from Saitek

    http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/a200.htm

Im very pleased with its performance, has a subwoofer incorporated into it, its highly portable and packs quite a punch for what it is

    I have a Creative T20 set on my M1530. It's only 2.0 but i rather have a decent 2.0 than a $50 2.1 or 5.1 system, i use my headphone (Creative HS-400) most of the time anyway.
