Did I get a good deal on a XPS15? I'm gonna be paying $1545 (includes tax + s&h). Is there anything else I should add/change?

Davin, save $100 and get the 525m video card, its the same as the 540m design, and I've overclocked mine to 550m speeds with no problems. even if you don't overclock the difference is supposed to be 6-10%.
$60 for the ram upgrade is kinda borderline, you can get a 8GB kit for $5 more at amazon.com and it is a simple upgrade. I chose to pay $5 and have the original memory on hand to sell or whatever.
Also, I believe you are going for the 'top of the line model' if you go down a notch or two, you can get a similar config with 2 years in house maintenance without the home and student 2010 software if you don't need it. You also may not get 15 months McAfee, but Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast is free and just as good. I prefer Microsoft's Security Essentials.
General consensus is the Creative labs X-FI is not worth it, its a software only solution and may conflict with realtek drivers. I would do a search for more info.
I would get the backlit keyboard, it is nice.
Hopefully I helped a little -
I might phone this order in and see if I can config the build more and try to save some more money. I know for a fact that I don't need McAfee or the 2010 Software. -
ya, thats what I'm saying. Start on one of the configs in the middle and work up from there. configs like the i7 w/ a processor upgrade is a fraction of what it costs to upgrade the processor on the base config. The last 'uber' package contains a bunch of crap in my mind.
I spent a lot of time working on those configs before I ended up going near barebones with self upgrades. -
I wasn't able to get the deal that I posted earlier, so I've been waiting since my original post. Now that they're doing their July 4th deals, I got an even better one! I bought the following for $1475 (includes tax + s&h)
