Thanks. It looks nice and is using just under 25 mb of ram.
-
Sweet!!
Thanks for the heads up! -
Awesome, thanks!
-
Great! thanks!
-
Thanks, I have been waiting to check this out ever since I heard the Studio 15 got it. Glad they opened it up to all Dell owners. In fact, I see no reason why this wouldn't work on any computer running Vista.
-
Is there any difference between the "Dell" version and the free version of ObjectDock from Stardock's web site? Any extra features?
-
-
wow this amazing. My first time using a dock program and it's
really convinient!!
thx for the link! -
It doesn't seem to work on Windows XP.
-
Oh my goodness, this is SO much better than the default Stardock I was using. It can even autohide itself so im not opening programs when I don't want to......looks a lot better as well. Thanks for the heads up!
-
-
Oh well, I'll stick with RocketDock which includes most, ir not all of the features. I'd recommend checking it out for those who haven't heard of the free alternative: http://rocketdock.com/
Works on Windows XP, too -
I just installed it, so far I'm liking it...my brother did criticize it though saying that it made my desktop look more like a Mac...but other than that it seems good. It does use a bit of memory (about 25MB with as many shortcuts on it as I have which is similar to the usage of my Windows Sidebar). When you got 4GB of ram though it really doesn't matter. Heck if I like it enough, I might install it on my desktop too (not a Dell...I built it myself).
-
as I had asked in the other Dell Dock thread in the Dell general section, anyone know of a way to bypass the Dell check? Again, I have a desktop I would love to use this dock on =[
-
-
Yeah well I think I am just going to uninstall it. It is not as graphically animated and interactive as ObjectDock.
-
-
-
Maybe Dell was required to by Stardock? If it's the Plus version, I can understand it. If it's just the Dell-branded free version, then that's just stupid.
-
Wait, so can you not install it on 64bit?
-
It's running smooth -
^ How'd you bypass the Dell check?
Or is the check not OS based??
BIOS based maybe??? -
Dell, on the download page, mentions it's for Vista 32-bit AND x64, so it should be fine on Vista 64-bit.
I may try it, though I am loath to use something that unnecessarily takes up any of my mere 4 GB RAM (I wonder if Dell will release a BIOS update to allow for 8 GB). -
Running it on 64...fine.

I installed the dell dock and though it was cool but I just installed Rocketdock and it is a ton better and uses less ram. Right now the dell dock is using 30 MB and the rocket dock is using 10 MB. The dell dock only has three shortcuts on it right now too. I always wanted to use a dock but this is the first time I've had a system that won't crumble under flashy extras.
-
-
Damn, so it installs just fine on non-Dell machines, but when you try to run it, it says "You must be on a Dell computer to use Dell Dock."
I didn't expect it to work though, so oh well. -
-
works great on vista x64 m1330, yea it uses 30mb but oh well thats why i have 4 gigs of ram
-
I cannot add shortcut to the Dell dock.
-
oh boy! i don't understand why you complain about this stuff. let me clarify
- This works only on DELL Systems
- This works on both 32 and 64 bit.
- For me, after customization, it uses 18 MB of RAM. See more
(Since I've got enough RAM, its not a problem, but for others, this thing is not recommended)
- You can use it flawlessly if you understand english, for adding an entry, just drag the icon to the dock. If you need some better assistance, Right Click on the Dock > Advanced Settings > Click "Add a shortcut".
Guys, you just need to explore the software a bit before asking questions. There is nothing wrong in it.
- Personal Opinion, i just dont like the color combination in it, else its perfect. -
what is it ?
-
Im so happy about this Dock! I'm bout to test it out now.
-
Wow, i'm really glad that dell did this, i think i'm gonna email them, and this is probably first time i emailed a company
-
Though the Dell Dock is good, but it doesn't meet my requirement. (Time, weather etc). Here is my dock:
And it has something similar to category function of the Dell Dock.
-
This dock stuff is over-rated.
Just get mac's if you want doc's/ -
what dock is that alexzeon?, i'd get a mac but too much for my pocket
(osx86 ftw)! i dun want to get flammedddddd -

Thanks Kdawgca for the Stack Docklet info. -
Maybe a silly question but would you able to add the stack docklet to the Dell Dock?
-
