I can play it with 60 fps on medium settings at 1600x900, on high its about 25 and on ultra it can go as low as 15 sometimes.

You can play around alot with the settings though..i was able to set half the things on ultra and some things on high and then a few things like Shaders and lighting effects to medium or low and i was able to get 50+ fps.

All in all I'd say this system has no trouble with sc2 and as with all laptops the gpu is the bottle neck.

Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. If this system can run Diablo 3 at reasonable fps, I won't have to change the laptop for at least 5 years.

The game run pretty well as long as you don't set the shaders above medium. Many of the other settings can be set pretty high. Most of the time I get around 45-50fps on 1920x1080, but some of the largest multiplayer battles can lower the fps to well below 20, especially when the Mothership gets involved.

That's true, I've seen that happen. It's like you can make 100 zerglings (or some other higher number) with no fps problems but then add 5 more to the bunch and it lags like hell.

man this game makes my laptop chug. If you set the textures on ultra the ram usage is like 1.8gb. Running it on high is ok then occasionally i get throttling pretty sure its the cpu overheating now.

It seems the Shaders have a HUGE affect on fps. I can run on low Shaders and max everything out and still maintain 30 fps, but even setting Shaders to medium and keeping everything else at low I can barely get above 20 fps.

Low Shaders looks like crap though.

i play at 1600x900 with half of the settings on high and half on medium. i get around low 30s average and occasional dips into the high 20s. I got a few more frames by lowering res from 1080p to 900p and i didnt notice the difference visually.

Just wondering, how do you select 1600 x 900? That option doesn't show up for me. The next lowest after 1920 x 1080 is 1280 x 1024 for me.

    Lowest settings possible I get 160 fps+
On Medium settings I get 60-80 fps
On High I get 55-65 fps
    On Ultra I get 45- 50 fps

    These are averages..
But I play in lowest settings either way.
I never play a game a setting where it's possible to drop lower than 60 fps,
60 fps is when I can start seeing a big big difference and it affects my apm

    Oh I play in 1920x1080

you have to go into the system config and there is a certain thing you change there. search it on google (custom display resolution or something), thats how i figured it out. if you have any questions just ask.

You can't honestly be saying that you notice a "big big difference" between, say, 50 and 60 FPS.

If you play any game with a mouse competitively you will notice a difference between 50 and 60 fps. You may not see the extra frames, but you will feel what seems like input lag. On a related note, even though the monitor can only display 60fps, you can still feel the difference between 60fps and 120fps due to input lag. Personally, I don't really care if I'm getting 45 or 120+ fps, but I don't play for money.

Yes I can.. haha I used to play CS, CS:S competitively and the difference is easily noticeable for me.

Plus I always want to aim for 80 fps or more because in case of a huge firefight/battle.. it should keep me above 60 :)

Interesting... I play competitively too but I don't notice a significant difference. I know what you mean by input lag at lower FPSes but it doesn't feel like it'd be worth turning down settings for. Then again, SC2 does render beautifully even at Medium/High settings, so I guess you could find some justification in that...
