    Hello,
I installed windows 7 using the provided dvd on XPS 1645. Installed all the drivers followed the installation order released on dell site.

Received new 130 W adapter and also upgraded BIOS to A08. But after all this hassale and procedure my problem is still there. When ever I am playing any movie using Cyberlink the screen is freezing and all this ended up to a force shutdown.

Please please I need help how to fix this issue. I am unable to play Youtube movies or cant use even cyberlink to watch movies.

Will look forward to hear from experienced ppl

    Thanks and regards.

I think this is a known problem, uninstal creative audio fx. If that doesn't work try updating flash player

Maybe first try updating cyberlink powerdvd. Open powerdvd dx from the start menu without a disc in the drive, should have online update option on bottom left

I would uninstall Creative if I were you. I was having lock-ups every few days, and since uninstalling Creative, I have had none. It is in Add/Remove Programs and is listed as: Sound Blaster X-Fi MB. It is not worth the trouble.

Does this issue happen only when using cyberlink? Have you tried other programs, i.e. vlc, wmp etc.

Dear I could't find any entry of Sound Blaster X-FI MB in my Add Remove Programs.

No it is not must. Sometimes cyberlink plays the move but while watching the movie if you press the hot key for fast forward or maximize or minimize the screen it messes up everything and I have to shut it down and sometimes TheKMPLayer plays the movies but again the final solution is force shutdown.

By the way I also noticed another thing. that after installing the windows in my Device Manager there is an entry called Other Devices appearing and under that entry there are 2 drives missing called Base System Devices. Can you please guide me what type of device drivers it is looking.

Missing drivers are for the ricoh card reader, if the ones from the dell drivers site for your 1645 dont work then try the one for the 1640

Khurram, I have the same problems with powerdvd when I first reinstalled Win7. I forgot how I solved it, but it should be about getting new video drivers.

Uninstall all your drivers, and reboot.
Then go here and download this driver.
