    depens on the CPU.
    I5 1066Mhz
    I7 1333Mhz

1600mhz is just getting available but as far i know dell dont go higher then 1333Mhz at the moment.

    Correct me if im wrong.

But you want to replace it or do you have an 3D model with GT555M?

Just wondering, assuming only 1333 is available for the i7-2720, what kind/brand of RAM is everyone getting? Any brands to avoid?

Anyone have any new info if 1600 is supported?

1600 isn't supported by the CPU.

    Thanks!

I wanna get some 2x4GB sticks to replace the stock, but I'm a newbie about installing RAM, so I could I install something like 10666, or would only 10664 work?

Any particular brands that are better than others? Any configurations (2x2GB, 2x4GB, etc) that would work better?

Still wondering if anyone can recommend some high-end stuff vs low-end. Is all Kingston's stuff high-end? Any problems with Crucial?

Xmacro, I've looked it over with the Intel info and the i7-2720QM processor and above supports 1600MHz ram. I just talked to a Dell rep and confirmed with him that my new laptop that is on its way with the i7-2820QM processor does support 1600MHz ram. I think all Dell reps at first assume you just selected the lower end i7 which does not support 1600MHz. The Dell rep also advised me that I would need to go into the BIOS and select the RAM clock speed. That leads me to believe the XPS does support XMP....

Wish we had a Dell 17" XPS 3D owner to confirm. Mine won't be here for another week or so.

Going off that info I will be purchasing the 16GB Kingston 1600MHz and will update when I get it installed.
