basically im using notebook hardware control and have my cpu set on MAX while connected to a power socket. the multiplier is either x 6 (1196mhz) or jumps to x 12.5 (2492mhz) when launching an application.

However, when Im on battery, the multiplier and hence the clock of the cpu stays steady at x 8 (1596mhz) regardless of anything! I tried turning off the software (notebook hardware control), but the problem still persists!

    my cpu is:

    intel T9300 (2.5ghz)

please help! as I belive it is eating into the battery because of its higher clock...

Well, if you lock the multiplier with RMClock, it won't read the multiplier as 12.5x, but 12x. So, you can try out CrystalCPUID, and assign a particular multiplier using that, and see if the settings stick.

Its basically EIST, and the CPU is downclocked to reduce power consumption, when CPU power is not required by any of the applications.

settings dont stick... I have that its EIST, but it isnt actually downclocking, its overclocking (compared to the minimum)! the minimum multi is 6, mid is 8, and maximum is 12.5, when connected to power, it jumps straight from 6 to 12.5, but when on battery it is static 8...
