Symptom:
Occasionally, my screen will freeze and start to get more and more white gradually until the whole screen is solid white. At first I thought my video card was about to take a dump, but I realized likely wasn't the case when I had my monitor hooked up and only the laptop display was doing this.
Then while I was moving my laptop it started doing this again, except this time i realized something really weird: The LCD stops acting up as soon as I touch or bend the display a certain wait. I was watching a movie when it was happening, and everytime it would freeze, simply putting pressure on the lid of the laptop made it go back to normal.
Before I tear into the display (off warranty) I wanted to see if anyone has some suggestions on what exactly to look for.

If its in your budget, Dell will fix it for around $400 i believe. If not, My first laptop, a PII Dell has a simmilar problem, exept it faded like yours, to black, i attached 2 extra large binder clips to each side and it fixed the problem. i had to move them around every so often, but it worked. i suggest trying that.
