Hi guys, some of u might have already known about my weird issue of BSOD. i had my previous 2x2gb ram faulty. i used to get BSOD if i live it on.(I don't know if it was a conflict between 3d screen saver and power option), anyway, so i changed those ram and put the original 2x1gb back. even though i was using them since a month, i got 3 or 4times BSOD. there was no problem with the ram. whatever at that time the machine use to restart automatically once experiencing BSOD. so i could run bluescreen viewer to analyse what causes these problrm.

but yesterday i bought a pair of Hynex 2x2gb ram. i ran 10hrs memtest86+ and no problems were found. today when i went my job i left my machine on. once i came back home found the BSOD screen. so it didn't restart and didn't even create the memorydump file. i tried to run bluescreen viewer. but there is nothing. it was same thing happening when i used to use 4gb ram b4.

so guys, is there anything i really need to change once i install i mean upgrade ram from 2gb to 4gb. if not then why it's not creating any memorydump file. i didn't change any set up as it was by default. guys help me plzzzzzzzzzz.

NB: BSOD screenshot has been attached.

The error you experience is UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. It usually only occurs if a hardware component is not working correctly.

It may be the Ram, but as you already tested it I would guess that its the graphics card that causes the error. Sometimes the 8600s are dying slowly. Dell extended the warranty for errors caused by the 8600s by one year. Maybe that helps...

I would recommend using the newest drivers. You should also be able to use the drivers from the Dell support page provided with the new XPS 1340.

Here is a small news about the warranty extension:
    http://www.mobilewhack.com/dell-extends-warranty-on-8600m-gt/

Just call the Dell support and ask if the extension also covers your system.

Hi, I called to Dell today and explain the BSOD. it has been settle down that they gonna replace the graphic cards. so, some one gonna come to pick up the system this wednesday and return it within 6 business days with new graphic cards replaced. though i don't like my system to b taken way, but there is no other way unless i extend my warranty which has been expired 21st of Nov, 2009.

I have included the screen shot of my present graphic cards specification .
