Hey guys, I have this strange problem when installing drivers, originally I was getting a 3dmark 06 score of over 8000 with the Dell drivers and over 8500 with 169.xx drivers, now I have installed the 169.09 drivers and the 3dmark score is around 7500 and it stays very close to that no matter what drivers I use. I uninstall the previous drivers properly with CCleaner and driver sweeper as well and I have followed many of the guides available to uninstall and reinstall drivers. Along with the 3d mark score reducing, the average FPS from the Counter Strike Source Stress test has gone down from 200 to 160 without changing any of the settings. I have SLi on and set to single GPU which is what I have had it set to all the time as the other settings give artifacting and run really slow. I had this problem before and reformatted and it went, now it is back and I dont want to keep reformatting and reinstalling Vista to get the performance I should be getting anyway.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I'm not really sure...I've heard bad things about the 169.09 drivers. I know it won't fix your problem, but I personally only install drivers if they get favorable reviews from 4/5 people or so.

Otherwise, I have no clue... I'm guessing no one else does either seeing as there haven't been any posts. You've done everything I'd know how to do to fix that problem. Quite sorry.

But heck, make your glass half full. 160fps is still playable. :D

It happens with any drivers, the Dell ones were getting me 8000 3d marks but don't anymore. I think this only started occuring after they replaced my motherboard. Maybe that has something to do with it. But 160FPS in the stress test doesn't equate to 160FPS in real gaming, it ranges from 100fps to 40 when actually playing any of the source engine based games, and it gets pretty choppy at times

I did a reformat and the problem still exists, maybe my graphics cards are screwed, I am planning to request a replacement system anyway coz i'm sick of all the problems
