I'm facing a very strange problem with my HP external Bluetooth mouse (Model - 430388-001)...
The mouse itself comes with a dongle with goes into the USB port and then connects to the mouse without any drivers required.
Everything was working perfect till a couple of days back when all of a sudden, the mouse started lagging a lot and giving very jerky reactions when connected to both the USB ports on the left hand side. Sometimes, it just refuses to work. While it runs perfectly when connected on the USB on the right hand side. The XPS M1530 has three USB ports, two on the left and one on the right.
I thought maybe it was an issue with the USB, but anything else, whether it's the flash drive or the wireless internet module works perfect on all three ports, without a hitch.
I still tried deleting all the USB controllers and Root hubs in Device Manager along with Human Interface Device and got Windows to re detect them, changed the batteries but the problem persists. Big time lags and jerks with no response at all at times.
Then I turned my attention to the bluetooth mouse itself, thinking the problem lay there. But it works perfect in my friend's laptop, in all her USB ports. And it works without any problems on my laptop's USB port on the right hand side. No lags or jerkiness.
Am at my wit's end now, not knowing where the problem lies... apparently the USB ports are fine, with no conflicts or problems, and the mouse is fine, working perfectly on another laptop and on the right hand side USB port on my laptop.
So, what's going wrong... and what do I do to fix it ?? Maybe I'm missing something small and there might be a simple solution to this. I'm sure you can guide me on this![]()
My laptop's configuration is :
Dell XPS M1530
Core 2 Duo T9500
4 GB RAM
320 GB HDD
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT
Resolution 1680 x 1050
Blu Ray Drive
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit

All right people.... it gets more confounded by the moment....
Apparently, switching the power off or taking the power cord out of the system and running on battery solves the problem completely....
Now what is this supposed to mean ?? -
it probably means that the ac adapter is causing interference...

Sorted out... it was an earthing issue. Thanks so much for your input philiptha.
