Just a question: There are programs out there that you can use to make your fan run all the time or on full speed/faster speed at all times.

Will this hurt the computer in any way (other than maybe battery life) ? to have the fan running full blast all the time

I really don't mind the noise it makes so I was thinking about trying this

    thanks

The only things that will be affected are lower battery life, as you mentioned, and increased wear of the fan.

Making the fan run SLOWER than it is supposed to run is a lot more serious because it can cause overheating. Make sure you don't do that.

You should just undervolt your CPU instead.

    Undervolting Failed!

I ran the Orthos and ran he balanced stress test for 11 minutes
Both cores stayed between 35 and 39C

Seemed like it was not doing anything??
    Help??

I am trying now to run the STRESSCPU test and that seems to work.. but the example
in the screen shot from teh undervolting guide shows the blended cpu and ram test..

Undervolting Completed - Tested using A06 Bios
Laptop sitting on a flat desk at work

After running the Orthos test with normal voltage: 10 minute test
    using the STRESSCPU test

    Thrm: 80
    CPU 0 68C max
    CPU 1 70C Max
    GPU: 72C Max

After lowering the voltage: 10 Minute - Same Test

    THRM: 70
    CPU 0 58C Max
    CPU 1 59C Max
    GPU: 66C Max

and I do not feel the fan running as much. The laptop palm rests seem cooler already!

How did you get such incredible improvments? I haven't noticed any difference after undervolting. I'm down to 0.88 (for the 2.53Ghz chip) on idle.
