    Hi all

I wonder if anybody can help???

I have had to reinstall my laptop and my employers insisted i use 32bit Windows 7 instead of 64bit. I know that there is a limit on the available RAM on 32bit systems but i thought it was about 3gb. My system only shows 2.25GB available of 4gb installed RAM. Has anybody else experienced this?

Im not sure why they wanted me to stick at 32bit but had better do what im told!

    Thanks

    Ben

Whats their reasoning behind using 32bit? Did they pay for the laptop? I'd just put 64bit on there anyway. And yes, I've heard of windows only reading between 2gb-3gb with 32bit. In my personal experience I've seen 3gb with 4gb of ram, but theres absolutely no reason to not use 64bit unless your company uses some proprietary hardware that will only run on 32bit...that I can think of anyway.

    Hi

Yes they own the laptop so I have to follow their instructions unfortunately, I guess it has something to do with creating a standard environment :-(
