hey guys, this is my first time posting, and i have a question.

i've heard that later on there will be different color lids for the sxps 13 and 16.

i understand that this is both a studio and an xps, so it makes me wonder if i can have cool designs on the top. i don't know how thats gonna fly with the leather, because black is the only color that i can think of that would go with it.

so heres my question: do you think that dell will release custom, or at least different colors for the sxps? possibly midnight blue, the RED one, white, brown, green. anything. and if you do, when do you think they will release the new options?

do you guys know when the previous xps (1330/1530) color options were released?

thanks a lot guys, and if there is a topic already about this, i apologize for the double posting.

before the studio xps 13/16 came out, there were some leaked images of the studio xps 16 with wood, instead of leather

I look for dell to do something like that - use trendy unusual materials, so don't expect "colors" but perhaps expect wood where the leather is, maybe a carbon fiber version in the future? who knows

The "bamboo" cover for the Studio Hybrid was expensive and not very popular, so my guess is Dell canceled a bamboo-like lid for the Studio XPS series. I'm sure in the future we will see some more wild lid designs, but for the moment, I think they offer a good array of colors, from black to red to white.

when you guys sat "future" what do you mean by that?

a couple of weeks, a month, 2 months? im not urgently awaiting color options, but if you guys honestly believe that they will be released within the next two months, i may hold back and see if they become available.

    thanks guys

i wouldnt say as soon at 2 months because it just came out and they need to see if theres positive reviews on it before they make different lids so i would buy now

Once the initial hype dies down, so will the sales. At that point, Dell will likely drop the price and/or offer more casing colors and configuration options.

I don't think you will see it for at least several months down the road, (at the earliest). Dell, tends to make changes like this after the new model has been out for a bit of time.

When the Mini 9 was released, it took Dell about 4 months to release other colors (outside of the featured colors of black and white).
