My SXPS13 is running Vista 64 with all the latest BIOS and drivers from the Dell website. nVidia driver version 7.15.11.7982.

I plugged my LCD 37" telly in my laptop via HDMI. At first everything was ok and l was getting an image on the laptop screen as well as the TV. I was then abled to switch modes so l just had an image on the TV. The screen was a bit overstretched so l was loosing the top, bottom, left and right of the image.

I went into the nVidia control panel and found a utilitily where l could re-size the LCD TV image. All seemed fine until l clicked apply. The screen went blank and it appeared the laptop had frozen as l was unable to get the CAPS LOCK key to come on.

I have rebooted the laptop several times now, but whenever l plug the LCD TV back in l just get a blank screen.

    Any suggestions?

My main suggestion would be to update your drivers. You're running version 179.82 - Nvidia drivers are up around the 182 region now. Personally, I found 185.85 to be the most stable drivers, I've never had any compatibility issues. I've had a few issues with some games with the 182.xx series, so personally I'd say try 185.85 - it has very good support for multimonitor.

    HDMI is working perfectly now.
