I'm in the hunt for a cheap notebook and have the option to buy a brand new 1340 for $700 canadian with the following specs:

    P8700
    4GB DDR3
    500gb 7200rpm HD
    9500m

I've skimmed through the owners thread and was able to pick up on some problems that exist, but for $700 it seems like a good deal considering what you get for 500+tax here in Canada. What I'd like to know is if those problems are enough to avoid this machine or go ahead with a purchase? I'm not sure if there would be a warranty or not.

    Any help is appreciated
