Hi everyone. I have over clocked my 9400mg geforce card and processor from 2.4 to 2.7, the system is very stable I guess i found the "sweet spot" lol.
Anyway we all know xps 1340 heats up like a skillet. Im think about modding it in terms of cooling/fans/heat sinks... Im trying to find a copper or a better heat sink than the stock one. or maybe a slighty stronger fan?
Does anyone know any sites or information how to make it cooler...???
BTW I dont want to buy a cooling pad because I think it looks adds extra stug the a very small laptop.

    Thanx

here is what you need to download and it will work 1000% just overclock it slowly not more than 5mhz at a time!
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools_6.05.html

it will give u a performance option in ur NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL
let me know how it worked out... remember to make it stable when i got to 2.9 it froze, many would of chose 2.8 but to be very reliable i went for 2.7!
By the way what are ur stock specs? let me know how it worked out

From what I've heard the 1340 uses the same thermal pad as the 1330. Try copper modding it.

its a very good thread with a lot of instructions.. Thanx, will deffinetly give it a shot as soon as I buy all the supplies..... Also Did anyone ever hear of undervolting? I've read a thread somewhere where owners of studio xps 1640 undervolted their laptop and now as a result gets alot cooler

Well if I can undervolt the south bridge then that will fix things but undervolting anything else won't change much in terms of the external temps. You would normally think of south bridges being fairly calm on the heat making scale but in the sxps16 it is prime culpret
