    Hello all,
I am going to Wales in about two weeks for university and i am looking for the AC unit for the 1340

Can any 1340 UK users please tell me which model their power brick is? or where i can buy them. In Canada we have best buy and etc. What type of big box stores sells dell accessories in the UK.

i know nothing about voltage and all that stuff, So i am hoping someone can tell me if there is a place in Cardiff where I can buy the UK power adapter for my Studio XPS 1340

    thank you in advance

Mine's a Part No: CM889. It's made in China. Not sure where you would buy one in Cardiff. Most likely place to buy is Dell mail order, or perhaps try e-bay?

Most people I know who have gone to Cardiff University love both the University and Cardiff City.

    Good Luck

    Geoff

Why dont you just use your AC adapter with a UK plug?

Indeed, mine states it works with 100-240 V so you should just need a 3 prong adapter.

yeah, i mentioned i know nothing about voltage conversion :s
But I went to CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) they do all our travel stuff, and the guy told me the same thing. most new products have both voltages and i just need the plug.

Thank you all for the help :)

The Dell adapter will run on any voltage between 100-240V so running on the UK grid (nominally 230V) it will be fine. The cable that runs from the adapter to the socket is a generic one, not Dell specific. The one you linked looks like it should be fine but the picture is inaccurate so its hard to say for certain.
