Hi, does anyone know if the Dell logo on the Studio XPS 16 lid is the same size as the XPS M series logos? The logo on my Studio XPS started to peel and a part of the 'E' actually broke off in the 4th day of ownership... I spoke to Dell and they want to replace the entire screen (!!) but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the hassle. I can get a relacement logo for the XPS M series but I'm not sure if it's the same size.

    Thanks

Wow, are you serious! On the M1530 it is recessed in, I don't see how it could easily break off. Either you have some bad luck or the logo is of a different design.

The logo is slightly recessed. I think the glue was faulty because it just started to peel away. When I kept trying to push the 'E' back into place, a piece just fell off.

Anyway, after I declined a screen replacement, they offered me a replacement laptop. We'll see how it goes.

    Thanks.

Do you have in-home service? I would just let them replace it if you do. Actually that depends on what screen you have now because you may run the risk of getting a grainy screen as a replacement.

Same thing happened to my m1330, they wanted to replace the screen too but I got them to just send me a replacement back cover. The 2nd one hasn't fallen off and it's been a year now.

I have the 1080 RGB screen and 2yr in home, but the laptop is only a week old and my Blu Ray drive seems a bit loud, so I just opted for a replacement. Hopefully I will get a good replacement.

I hope your replacement is flawless. The Blu Ray drives are pretty loud on these things anyway (assuming the 2 computers share the same drive) but perhaps yours was louder than normal! Good luck!

I too have a Studio XPS16. After gently wiping the cover with the Dell provided cloth the end of the middle section of the E in Dell broke off and become lodged under the cloth unbenknownst to me. I wiped the cover back and forth a few times and to my horror saw scratches in my cover and discovered the metal flake of the "e" end. Seems the logo is nothing more than a thin lettering that will easily flake or lift off. Dell's initial response was that it was not covered. I did nothing wrong. I explained to them this is a DESIGN DEFECT. We'll see what they do. My 2001 Inspirion 9300 has been dropped and is well used yet the logo remains in tact!

On my new XPS16 the last "L" in Dell fell off the first day, after gently wiping it with a mocrofiber cloth. I stuck it back on and it's held but they are just cheap letters barely glued on.
