Anyone noticed the HDD LED is blinking regurlarly, without seemingly ever stopping? Mine is doing that.

I terminated services such as Windows Defender, scheduled defrag, Superfetch, virus scan, search indexing, etc., and left my computer idle with no apps running but the HDD LED is still blinking regularly.

I ran sysinternals' diskmon. The tool registers no disk activity but the LED still blinks. I used Vista's Reliability and Performance Monitor and same thing: the tool reports no disk activity but LED blinks.

This is weird. Anyone else seen that?

    Thanks.

I've seen it. Don't know why it happens though.
