Studio XPS 16 Delay

Today, I went to check my SXPS16 order and found it was delayed from the 13th to the 20th. So, I decided to Google Dell delay stories and found stories of people's computers/laptops getting delayed for 2 to 3 months!

My question is.. has anyone's SXPS16 been delayed recently, how long was it delayed, and have you received it yet?

I am getting a bit worried because I need this laptop urgently because my current desktop died on me and this is supposed to be my replacement.

Customer support totally useless. I got same message - "your system is in production". No one can even tell me why it has been delayed.

 

Placed mine on 4/29. It was expected for 5/13, then delayed to 5/20. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

Why can't Dell just give us an honest DD instead of delaying our orders.

 

Well there's the "May delay your Studio XPS 16 ship date" clause they put if you select certain options. If you pick a few of those, I suppose the ship date gets pushed back, especially if they realize right then and there that they're out of stock of a certain piece of hardware and have to order more.

honestly, they can't keep live stock of their stuff for you, so until you actually place an order and it gets there, they probably don't bother to check their inventory to see if everything you need for your machine is in their warehouse for assembly.

 

Hopefully we won’t have to spend another month dealing with service reps after our laptops finally arrive.

 

yuH, I'm in the exact same situation as you right down to the same dates. What region of the country are you in? South Florida here.

 

I ordered mine on 4/21 and its been "In Production" ever since. Suppose to come on or before 5/15, so I'm crossing my fingers on my order. So far no delays...

 

same problem here, received an email today from dell telling me my order was delayed again until 5-20. I ordered mine on 4-16 and the original delivery date was 5-8, then 5-14, now 5-20.

 

I'm from Boston, MA.

Let's hope the delay of our notebooks is caused by only 1 piece of hardware not being available and not multiple. What are the specs on your notebooks?

dang, I ordered mine on 4/21 and it still hasn't shipped

 

Mine was delayed 3 weeks but it actually then showed up a week early so I guess it could have been much worse!

 

ugh...my status has been updated from a delivery date of 5/15 to 5/22

 

UK resident here. Ordered mine on the 2nd with projected delivery date of the 19th, and its been stuck in production for over a week now.

 

Ordered from France on April 28th. Projected delivery date May 12th, now updated to May 22nd.

So i checked today and apparently my order has been shipped, even after saying it was delayed untill 5/22. Funny thing is i called in my order status and it says it shipped on 5/18....which is in 7 days....

 

My 5/20 (updated once) estimated delivery was shipped today! Yay!

Mine was delayed from 5/7 with a EDD of 5/14 but it was shipped out today.

It seems that the updated projected delivery date was a bit pessimistic!

 

Its progressed! it's now in delivery preperation. Any idea how long this takes?

 

I got it in this morning!

The build quality's outstanding. No glaring gaps, scratches, bumps or irregularities.

The RGB display is incredible, worth every penny IMO. Facial recognition works pretty well after a few tries... I forgot to pack some Blu Rays to test but everything else seems to check out ok.

This thing attracts fingerprints like flies on sh!t. Ordered an invisible shield with a quickness.
