I'm sure this is the ten-thousandth thread of this sort but I figured I'd give 'er a go.

    I've got a 1645 if that matters.

Basically whenever I unplug the laptop (and sometimes when its plugged in) i get a lot of throttling, videos frag up, etc... Pretty much sounds like a lot of people have that problem.

Also, recently my computer has decided to completely shut down randomly. There's no rhyme or reason to it at all.

I don't think there's anything I can do about the throttling (at least based on what I've researched), but what do you think is causing the shut downs?

    Thanks ahead of time.

My answers to the questions are in bold above. I've looked through it, but haven't really found anything that seemed to help.

well you did not fill out what kind of gpu, the throttling issues seem to happen more often with the 4670 as it uses more power than the 5730. It also happens when there is a lack of power on demand such as a power variation (i.e. plugged id vs plug falling out or unplugging it all together)

For the throttling, have you tried flashing your BIOS back to A09, and have you tried using the throttlestop program?

Of course the laptop runs slower on battery. The battery can't push out enough power to keep up with the hardware. Also, the GPU downclocks itself when on battery to save power. You can adjust that in the Catalyst Control Center, under the "power play" menu, but it will still be slower than when on power.

As for the random shutdowns,. You'll need to provide more information before we can try to help you.
