Greetings, i have had my Studio XPS 16 for about 6 months now. Love it, its got the Edge to Edge RGB display 1920x1080. Looks good. I am wanting to know if anyone is having an issue where the screen is getting SCUFFED? Mine appears to be scuffed exactly where the keys touch the screen when closed. for instance the power button has WORN a scuffed up area that matches up exactly when the lid is closed. also the SPACE BAR, INSER,PRINTSCR, DEL keys. has anyone else experienced? Its almost like the keys stick up a little when the lid is closed and scuffing the screen

I've heard of this happening before. I keep the foam thing that ships in between the keyboard and screen in there when it's closed.

This is a known issue with some HP laptops, but haven't heard of it too much with Dell XPS design. Are you carrying the machine in a backpack or in a way that might be putting undue pressure on the lid? Do these scuff marks come out or are they permanent?

I like the shaggymac.com screen protector.

Here's a 10% off coupon code if interested.

I use the Travel-Smart Mouse Pad to avoid this common problem. A little short in length for the 1640 but it works.

Probably a good preventative idea, just make sure the material is VERY thin so as to not put undue pressure on the hinge.

Thanks, ordered one. Even though I use the Travel-Smart, the $19 shipped is worth the extra peace of mind of knowing the screen is protected from the entire keyboard and touchpad.
