Have you used the 5% coupon available on this site?

Also, posting the link like that won't paste the build that you wanted to save.

    Yes, listen to Fenikk.

The best way to get a deal is to call the Dell reps I did that and I was granted a little wiggle room (price wise) and student discounts etc... you can't haggle with a website lol

What sort of discounts can you expect from calling in? Do they really offer student discounts? With the Signature Event, the Studio 16 XPS with the RBGLED is $1149. Think its possible to get any cheaper than that?

The idea that it's being phased out is only speculation. The 1645 is currently the top of the SXPS 16 line. I don't think they'd get rid of it. At least not until it's replaced with something greater, which the 1647 is not.

The model he linked to is the SXPS 1640 which is being replaced by the SXPS 1647. Sure the SXPS 1645 is better than the 1647 (IMO bad naming scheme on Dell's part), but that is somewhat irrelevant assuming he linked to the correct model. I mean, the new Inspiron 17 would have a better CPU at $1,000 than his selected model at $1,800 which makes it seem like a bad purchase. If he needs one urgently and can't wait for the SXPS 1647 to reappear on Dell's U.S. site, he should probably get a SXPS 1645.
