Hi, can any Studio XPS 16 owners do me a quick favour please?

Right-click "My Computer" followed by "Properties", then "Device Manager" on the left hand side. From the device list click "IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers" and tell me the name of the firewire device (chipset) that's installed.

Example (from my desktop PC, I don't have a Studio XPS yet):

(In the above example, the firewire chipset is "Texas Instruments".)

If you reply, could you also tell me which Studio XPS 16 model you have please (version 1640, 1645, or 1647)?

Reason I ask is I have an external firewire soundcard ( Motu Traveler) and it's a little finicky with what firewire chipsets it best works with.

    Thanks ever so much.

    Kieran

    With a 1645 (core i7 720 processor), I have a Ricoh 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller.

All XPS16s use Ricoh. Specifically, hardware ID E832
