    1200 for the sxps
    1000 for the m11x

Ive been using a dell xps m1530 for the past 2 years and i still can run games like mass effect 2 or dragon age, but i hate the temperature. My gpu is at 68 C usually, and playing games reaches 90-94. Sometimes the computer shuts down because of it.

If your looking for a replacement gaming machine you would be better off with the xps. The m11x uses a ulv cpu which is faster then a netbook but slower then a c2d/ix part,

From what I read, the alienware is a great machine, but with a small 12" screen and ULV processor, it will not be a great all-round machine as the xps.

    Studio XPS 16 undoubtedly..

What is the use and thrill in playing in 11" screen..if thats not a problem,u can reduce Screen size a little better and get PSP. ;)

well the psp is not gonna play as demanding games as the m11x. but that aside, i love my psp.

and i would love an m11x, but thats just tiny. although right now, the 13.3" isint too bad at all. its perfect, similar to my old 14"

You will encounter far worse temps if you are gaming on the XPS 16. I don't game, and I luvvvvvv my XPS 16, but it will crank up the temps with gaming in any configuration. Go with the slightly smaller screen and cooler 11z especially if temps are you primary concern.
