I think I've almost decided on the SXPS 16 with the 1080p screen and P8600 processor upgrade and after scanning the forums here I do still have a couple of questions for everyone that has one here.

I am curious if anyone has tested the performance of virtualization software like vmware or virtual box? I haven't really kept up on mobile processors very much so not to sure what to expect on this.
Also, I know 16" is kind of large for a travel notebook but has it been a hassle to lug around for anyone? I looked at the SXPS 13 but it has the same resolution as the laptop I'm using now and is kind of painful for Eclipse or Visual Studio.
Also what type of battery life are y'all seeing with both the 6 & 9 cell batteries?
    Thanks for any help!

The 1640 is a great laptop and is very portable (well for me, Weight doesn't bother me) I get 2:30 on 6 cell and about 4 - 4:30 on 9 cell ( Wifi on, Brightness lowest just surfing the web ) The 1080p screen is amazing the res is also perfect for the 16 inch screen and i will never go back to anything less then 16 now. Overall great notebook and travel companion imo.

    Hope this helps =D

I use virtualbox constantly (run windows 7 on it in ubuntu and ubuntu on it in windows 7)... performs very well in both cases.

    my specs:
    t9550, 500gb 7200 rpm hd, 4 GB ram

I'd rate the processor as decent for virtual stuff . .. .

You'd probably want to get as much RAM as you can buy, too . . .
