    Please help me decide between SXPS 16 and Studio 17. Configs are below. Main differences in configurations:
    SXPS - smaller (15.6"), higher resolution (1920x1080) screen; better build quality; more stylish; slightly better wireless card and graphics card.
    Studio - larger (17") screen.

    Main uses = Internet, video (not blu-ray, mostly online tv etc), very light gaming, office excel etc

    If it was me, I would go with the studio xps, because it's only $20 more.

    Reasons:

    The XPS's screen is full HD (1920x1080) (1080P).
    It has a better graphics card.
    Better wireless card.

    If screen size is you worry, with 1080p, you are going to be able to fit a lot more stuff on the screen than you would with the 900p screen at a larger size.

    The SXPS is probably better unless you really want a 17" screen.

    Go with the XPS 16 :)
    You won't regret it, it's a great lappy!!

    I think for what your usage is going to be, you would be happy with the XPS 16! Your going to pay a tad more, but in the end it will be worth it!

    @1ceBlu3;
    Camera/facial recognition are on the XPS16 too just FYI.

    @joeyseiler;
    The 17 also has a full number keypad too. It's quite a large unit to be moving around a lot. By my Sig you know which one I prefer. Good luck in your choice, an all around better unit.

    SXPS...this thing is "classy" in black, red, or white. My sig speaks for itself. Though you should research on the few problems the system has had for some people. :)

    How did you manage to get the XPS 16 down to ~$1,200?!?!? Am I missing something here?

    No warranty and no upgraded RAM. So it seems about right before taxes. Let me check...
    edit: Yeah thats like 200 dollars cheaper before taxes as listed there. So.. Idk.

    So do you think your going to order it then? :D
    If you found a good deal on it, and you think this is the "one" ;)

    I really enjoy my 1640! I just received mine a few weeks ago (replacement for my 1530), and I thought it would take a bit to get used to the screen, etc...but it's fantastic. :)

    I had them both, returned the Studio 17, kept XPS 16. No regrets. I took RGBLED 1920x1080 display which is AWESOME!

    Studio 17 display sucks. 1600x900 just doesn't cut it for the screen of that size. Several forum members here convinced me to return Studio 17 and I am eternally grateful to them (and to myself for listening).

    I think that even if you don't get the RGBLED, hi-def is huge, especially that the screen is slightly smaller. You won't miss much desktop real estate. I even set the icons to small @ 1920x1080 and it still looks great.

    The only advantage of Studio 17 is that it has extended keyboard and i7, but you probably won't need i7 anyway, so why bother. My XPS got 8gigs of RAM and i5 and is lightning fast.

    Go for it.

    ---
    P.S. forgot to mention another significant difference - XPS is much more quiet than Studio 17. After I got it, took me over 6 hours to realize that I can barely hear the fan noise :)

    Another vote for the SXPS 16. Got my sig rig for $1500 with tax and shipping. last Sept. Best money spent, ever. Got mine at the XPS Signature event saved about $600. Blu-Ray burner for $30 extra! Even now you STILL can't get a Blu-Ray burner... They finally got Blu-Ray readers back in stock.
