I recently restored my XPS to it's factory image and am in the process of removing all of the odd bits-and-ends that came packaged in the computer. However, I am unable to remove this blue icon that pops up whenever I use the surface touch-buttons which control the volume, and a similar icon pops up whenever I use the wireless networking on/off button. A picture of what I'm talking about can be found at: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7200/newbitmapimagemx.png

I wouldn't particularly mind it if not for the fact that it pulls me out of the few non-windowed video games I've tried so far. I do not rmemeber this icon ever appearing before; I used to be able to mute and unmute succesively in games without any problems. I was wondering if there is a "button function editor" somewhere similar to what standard keyboard quicklaunch-keys sometimes bring up. Barring that, is there any other way to disable these icons?

it's Dell's QuickSet software. You could probably uninstall it if it bothers you that much...
