Is this normal? The white wire was touching the right control key, it is still touching it but not as bad as before after I tried to push it in.

Should I report it as a fault and get Dell to fix it?

Mr. Blurrycam took that picture?

Report it to Dell. Looks like it's either a piece of string or a real wire, can't be sure from the blurriness.
-
I think it's a flying saucer.
-
Took it with the phone cam. Its a piece of wire that is supposed to be under the palm rest but obviously the assembly line didn't do their job right!
-
If everything else is fine, you may want to tuck it in properly rather than risk transit problems.
You could check the tech manual on removing the base, the rear caps, then lift the palm rest and tuck it. -
a miniature ufo came out of your computer
where are these built at? -
How could this (white wire on black kb) slip past their Q&A? Crasy.
-
That is as far in as I am able to tuck it.
I am having Dell replace my LCD panel (1900 x 1080 RGBLED) as it arrived faulty with the 1 pixel wide yellow line from the top right down to the bottom of the screen but you are right, I am wary they will stuff something else up if they open the chasis to adjust the wire. You can't trust Dell.
I don't really want to mess with removing the panels and everything myself either.
Wonder how all these slipped past QC at the factory... -
Made in Malaysia was printed on the box. That would be the factory in Malaysia then. Very poor quality control they have there, must be paying them peanuts.

That is what I'm thinking constantly since receiving this supposedly 'Premier' product the XPS Studio is promoted as! This Dell mob is like a backyard laptop assembler with this mess.
