    Studio XPS 1645 bios updated now dead computer

    Hi :confused: I downloaded a recommended bios update from the Dell website yesterday and after restarting, the computer will not boot up. The screen is completely black, when I press the keyboard it starts beeping, but nothing else happens. I am not tech savy so I need step-by-step procedures to fix this problem. The computer was working great before I downloaded this update. I appreciate your help and time! Thank you...Stephanie

    Yes, that works, I've done it before. The only thing that that thread fails to mention is that you need a 32bit computer to create the recover disk, the program won't work on 64-bit.
