I'm currently having some issues with the keyboard. It seems as if the two rows with Y and U are not responding. Even from the Dell test thing. It happened that it would stop working for a short time, then work again and now it stop working again. It was intermittent and would always come back but now... I'm wondering will it ever come back?

What could I do? It's only 2 months old and I am out of the country, so I can't call support now. Could I make my warranty effective on other country?

The keys seem normal, they just don't work... and dell reps are telling me is a driver thing, but it doesn't even work at the BIOS or dell test.

They also told me drivers are a motherboard thing??

I am experiencing the same issue as you, just started happening today. My 6, 7, y, u, h, j, n, and m keys don't work at all. At first if I kept pushing the keys they wold eventually start working again but now nothing. I'm using the on screen keyboard to type now and it is really annoying.

Oh, wait, they actually just started working again RIGHT NOW for the first time in a few hours. This sucks. Let me know if you find out what the problem is. $2000 and the freaking keyboard doesn't even work.

i am also having the exact same issue with my 1645, i bought it a week ago. Its so frustrating to have spent top dollar for top of the line laptop and even the keyboard does not work besides having throttling issues.
    No wonder people love apple.

Same issue here. Having a tech replace the keyboard this Friday, hopefully this will fix it.
