On the cover of your laptop be it the Studio XPS 1340, 1640/45/47 you have a silver Dell Logo.
I've had my laptop screen for less than 2 weeks at this point and for the second time the E in DELL has broken and fallen off while wiping the cover with a cloth (the bag that the laptop came in).
Has this happend to anyone else?
It is basically just pasted on to the (in my case) White cover.
Last time this happend I had dell replace the LCD because it was a brand new laptop. This time I don't care to deal with them again. But any advice would be appreciated.

call dell..ive never had this happen to mine.. strange!

that does seem rather strange. my logo seems to be pretty snug and solid, and I don't see how one letter would fall off...unless you chip it in the right places from hitting it.

This f---ing bull! I just had this happen to me, I had a smug that was a little stuck on from something that I think spilled in my briefcase so I tried to clean the entire outside of the now with a microfiber cloth. This is the result:
I'm going to call them tomorrow, crappy speakers, throttling CPU, logo falling apart, doesn't instil much trust in the Dell name any longer for me. -
Just got some people PM'ing me about the logo.
It came off today, when I got home. the smug that I cleaned off was on the right side of the lid so nowhere near the logo. It was a bit of a protein bar. I decided to clean the entire top instead of just that little area. I did not apply any force to the cloth. just lightly rubbed it over.
The material of the logo seems to be some extremely thin plastic/foil, once you got a little off you can literally lift the rest of the logo with your finger nail.
Studio XPS Dell Logo, (falling apart?)
