When I go on the Dell website (both Canadian and American, although I am in Canada) and I customize one of these laptops with the rgbLED display, as soon as I switch the system colour to any other colour than the default black the rgbLED switches to a WLED, but the cost stays the same.

Is this a glitch, when it says WLED does it actually mean rgbLED? (or else why does it still cost the same) I was curious because I was definitely getting interested in the rgbLED, but I would much rather have the laptop in white.

I actually do not see any systems that even offer the RGBLED on the us website... where are you looking? There have been really bad supply problems with the RGBLED screens so they are probably trying to avoid having to fill more orders with them...

Which configuration are you looking at?

try the 'chat' button and ask their representative...it is puzzling. I decided I'm just going to go with black so I can get the RGBLED.

Hmm I just ordered black/w leather from US. Maybe no black leather is a canada thing :( that's lame of them. I would have prefered white+leather+RGBLED mainly because the white wouldn't be as much of a finger print magnet.

edit: cancel that. I just looked at my order page and it says Premium FHD WLED Display, Obsidian Black, 2.0 MP Webcam - I could have sworn even the confirmation screen said RGBLED before it hit submit order. I'm calling dell now to cancel or confirm it's not a mistake. They're already closed for today. I'll have to call in the morning, will update when I find out. Emailed support too

Google has helped reassure me it's a mislabeling/mistake:

I thought it was strange they'd ditch the RGBLED option for Red/White for something else and keep the same price point of +$250 (US). Maybe that is the same display but they're re-branding it?

Well they have black leather in Canada but it had the same problem as the white and red. Only black, no leather seemed to have rgbLED available. I'm sure it must be a mistake. If you call them, let me know what you find out.

I finally got around to calling the support person said it was a error with their system - after ordering it will show the wrong display sometimes but I would be getting RGBLED.
