    As for the battery life...

    So you should get abut 3 hours and 6 hours respectively on the 9-Cell, depending on what you're doing and assuming that the 9-Cell as approximately fifty percent more capacity than the 6-Cell.

    3 hours and 6 minutes on the 9 cell?
    The 6 cell gives me about 2 to 2 1/2 hours

    Is it safe to assume that isn't the "maximum" number? I seemed to get not too far below that number on a 6 cell on very very light weight work.

    I believe so, yes. They are quite a bit longer than the 6 cell battery (extending from one end of the laptop to the other whereas the 6 cell stops a bit short).
