Hey all, so I have a 1640 with the RGBLED 1080p screen, and I recently purchased a Dell S2409W monitor with DVI, VGA, and HDMI. I have it connected through the HDMI, and when I first started I noticed that the image on the new monitor wasnt taking up the entire screen size of the monitor (there was about 3 inches of black unused real estate on all 4 sides of the monitor) and text wasnt sharp at all (actually very hard to read). I made sure that the resolution was set was 1920x1080, and it shows 1920x1080 at 60 FPS in display settings.

I finally came across a setting in the ATI Catalyst program called "Overscan" and when I moved the cursor all the way to the right it seems to have fixed it. The image expanded to the point where it takes up the entire screen and text seems to be clearer. However, I am wondering if this was the right setting to use. It was under my impression that HDMI automatically sets the resolution and everything up for you. The reason I ask is because 1920x1080 looks a lot bigger on the 24 than I thought it would (icons are big, etc) as well as Blu Rays that say they are 16:9 don't actually take up the entire screen. Anyone have any experiences with this?
