    Hi Friends

I'm from India and my friend is coming to India from USA within a month. I'm asking my friend to place an online order in his name with USA address with "1yr remote diagnosis and In-home service" warranty. Then once the laptop delivered to his USA address, he will bring it to India.

Now I want to ask the following couple of things...
    1. Will the warranty be valid in India ?
    2. Can I change the ownership from his name+USA address to my name+India address ?
    3. If the warranty will not be valid in India what else procedure you will suggest me to SAVE EXTRA $ ;)

Shouldn't you be asking Dell these questions?

I agree with the other Viper. You should ask Dell, but as far as I know, the warranty will not be covered outside of the US

i agree, u should ask from dell. i'm walking in similar shoes though, i bought it in the US then brought it to Europe, and before the purchase i made sure to have the warranty also in there. they said, i must choose minimum 3 yrs warranty to have an international warranty so i did choose it over the basic 2 yrs (the upgrade was $100) and i contacted the local support here, and they confirmed it's valid here too.

Thank you. Meantime I had asked Dell through online chat, they said the same thing. For international warranty I HAVE TO buy minimum 3yrs warranty :(
