I just received my g/f's M1330 and so far there are two things right away that bother me that i wanted to ask everyone about:

    1) When i am not on battery power, the screen flickers. I did some searching but can't quite tell if this is a known issue or not. This is the LED screen btw.

    2) I am only able to get sound through my headphones; btw it came that way. For some reason i couldn't hear anything so i decided to plug my headphones in and saw that the sound is working but it seems like the computer doesn't recognize when headphones are not in. Is this a setting i have to adjust?

    thanks for any help

    Jim

From what you are describing.......this computer sucks. A stupid answer for a "stupid" question.

Actually, it sounds like you may have a defective item or couple of items within one item in this case. I would recommend that you contact Dell about this matter and you may end up having to send the computer back for a replacement. The last time something like this happened to someone I know, Dell actually sent her a replacement computer before they even got the defective one back. I'm not sure if they do this still though.

    Good luck!

Thank you, i am sending this back anyway. We ended up buying a Vaio SR and received the XPS way before the estimated ship date anyhow. So i guess i'm in for a fight to get my money back.

    We'll see.

    Oh a Vaio! ;) :) Sorry the 1330 didn't work out for you and your G/F... :(

But, you found something that works for yah..that's all that matters!

Be sure to send the 1330 back asap...you have 21 days from the date of invoice to return! ;)

true about the 21 days but I am going to do my best to not get hit with the restocking fee. however after playing with both we both prefer the vaio over the xps. I think I could like the xps eventually but there are little things on the vaio that won us over so I'm not hating on the xps.
