have a look at my screen as of today (attached). It was fine last night, booted it up today and i get this.

well, i will definitely be calling dell. Anyone think this has to do with my 8600GT?

its been fine since i purchased it (dell outlet/refurb) and temps stayed around 60 at idle, 75 at full throttle. i hooked it up via 15 pin din and it couldnt get better than 800x600 res.

anyone have any experience with this? thanks.

Odd...I thought LCDs were progressive??? It almost looks...like it is un-combined interlaced pictures there...

    Anyway...nevermind about that.

That is a sure sign of a GPU defect. I'd call Dell and remind them that their nVidia GPUs suck and you need a new one now. I'm thinking (not sure) that the nVidia GPU on the M1530 is soldered...so you'll need an entire motherboard replacement.
