I got a replacement for my Studio XPS 1640 - a brand new Studio XPS 1645.
Whilst my new machine is a much higher spec, it only has a DVD drive rather than the blu ray writer in the old machine.
Am I allowed to swap the drives and still keep my warranty intact? I've still got both machines - Dell haven't asked for the old one back yet.
    Thanks :)

Just call them up and complain that they downgraded you, and that you want a Blu-Ray player, because that is what you had before. They'll send out a tech to replace it for you.
